20×20 and partner AIG have launched a video celebrating the Show Your Skills competition, the main feature of AIG’s 20×20 chapter. On hand to mark the occasion and help launch the AIG skills wrap video was Irish hockey international, Nicci Daly
The Show Your Skills competition which ran from March to August invited girls and women of all ages, levels and sports to submit a video of their best skills for a chance to win a €1000 monthly prize. Over the course of competition over 3,000 video entries were received, amassing over 4 million views on social media.
The shortlisted videos each month were judges by a panel of sports and business professionals including representatives from Dublin GAA, AIG, Teneo, 20×20 and Sport for Business.
20×20 set out two years ago to create a measurable shift in the perception of women in sport in Ireland so that it would be seen as something strong, valuable and worth celebrating. Over the course of the campaign, that mission has certainly been achieved with recent survey results showing a marked increase across awareness, admiration and support for women’s sport in Ireland
“AIG has a proud history and commitment to sporting organisations in Ireland, both male and female so supporting the 20×20 campaign was an excellent fit for us and we are very proud to have been a part of this important campaign and journey for Irish sport and society,” said AIG Ireland General Manager Aidan Connaughton.
“We take diversity, inclusion and equality very seriously at AIG and this campaign was a reflection of that commitment. I also wish to thank the 20×20 team for being a great partner and running an excellent campaign over the last 2 years.”
“We are delighted with the success of the AIG Show Your Skills competition, which has been vital in increasing awareness and admiration of the skill displayed by girls of all ages across countless sports,” added Sarah Colgan of 20X20.
“AIG have been an excellent partner of 20×20, showing a genuine commitment to our mission of growing women’s sport in Ireland. On behalf of 20×20, I would like to thank them for their invaluable support.
