As the Provincial Championships come to their conclusion, Allianz has teamed up with Sean Kelly, Galway footballer and Padraig McGrogan, Derry footballer to look forward to their respective All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Group stages and what will be a busy summer of Gaelic football ahead.

Coming off the back of the  Allianz Football League, which for the second year saw the outcome of the competition have a direct impact on qualification for the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the competition has already seen some interesting results during the Provincial Championships which will culminate this weekend and the group stages will be set.

This Sunday will see the provincial finals take place in both the Leinster and the Ulster Senior Football Championships with the All-Ireland stage of the competition due to begin the following weekend (May 18th and 19th).

With the return of the All-Ireland Football Championship season, Allianz Insurance are also looking to inspire the next generation of sportspeople through their #StopTheDrop campaign.

As the largest insurer of schools in Ireland, insuring over 500,000 children, Allianz has found that 1 in 5 children stop participating in sport at the transition from primary to secondary school. To combat this, Allianz has launched the #StopTheDrop resource hub on their website with a host of free information and activities that can be used to start conversations and actively help keep children involved in sport.

“After a brilliant start to the 2024 season, with the Allianz Leagues proving to be as entertaining as ever, all of us in Allianz are extremely excited for what is to come across the summer throughout the GAA All-Ireland Senior Football Championship,” said Allianz Chief Executive Officer, Phillip Gronemeyer.

“We will all be watching this weekend’s matches and want to wish all of the teams taking part the very best for the group stages of the competition.”

“This summer, during our second season sponsoring this incredible competition, we are also looking forward to sharing important learnings from our #StopTheDrop campaign to hopefully showcase to young people the benefits of staying in sport during their early teens so that they can all realise their sporting potential, at whatever level that may be.”

“Following on from an eventful Allianz Leagues campaign, we are once again delighted so have the support of our long-term partners, Allianz, as we head into the summer and what promises to be a brilliant GAA All-Ireland Senior Football Championship,” added GAA President Jarlath Burns.

“With so much at stake for all of the teams competing, I’m sure this is going to be another championship season to remember. We have already seen some brilliant matches during the provincial stages of the competition and are excited about the twists and turns that await in the run up to the final at Croke Park in late July.”
