Athletics Ireland has today confirmed the extension of its flagship partnership with Irish insurance company 123.ie in a multi-annual, six-figure agreement running through to the end of 2030.
The renewal builds on a relationship first established in 2022 and reinforces 123.ie’s role as Official Partner of Athletics Ireland. The long-term deal will support the sport’s development from grassroots participation to elite international performance.
123.ie, whose brand ethos is to “Give better a try,” has played a key role in a period of significant growth and success for Irish athletics.
Since the start of the partnership, Athletics Ireland has celebrated record-breaking international medal hauls, growing membership, and increased public engagement with the sport and its rising stars – including Rhasidat Adeleke, Sharlene Mawdsley, Kate O’Connor and Mark English.
As part of the extended deal, 123.ie will remain the Official International Kit Sponsor and retain title sponsorship of key programmes including the Athletics Ireland National Championships, National Athletics Awards, and Summer Camps.
The deal will also underpin community and participation initiatives being rolled out over the next five years, along with continued investment in marketing and promotion to elevate Irish athletics at home and abroad.
The renewed partnership comes at a time of strong momentum. Membership of Athletics Ireland has passed 70,000 for the first time and is on track for another record year in 2025.
The current Olympic cycle has already seen Irish athletes win 36 international medals, up from 30 during the Tokyo cycle.
World Indoor Silver Medallist Kate O’Connor welcomed the announcement, saying:
“Athletics is about pushing yourself and reaching your potential – values that 123.ie truly understands. I’m excited to see how this long-term partnership will help athletes of all abilities reach their potential over the coming years.”
Elaine Robinson, Managing Director of 123.ie, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to extend our partnership with Athletics Ireland. Our shared values – integrity, excellence, and inclusivity – are reflected in every athlete and volunteer in this great sport. By investing through to 2030, we’re saying clearly: we believe in the future of Irish athletics and are committed to being part of that journey.”
Athletics Ireland CEO Hamish Adams added:
“We are delighted to extend our award-winning partnership with 123.ie for another five years. The ongoing support enables us to deepen our impact at all levels – from elite competitions to juvenile and schools athletics. We will continue to work together to build a healthier, more active Ireland through our shared values.”
