The Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team will face Belgium at the Aviva Stadium in the first leg of their UEFA Women’s Nations League Promotion/Relegation Play-Off, with the match scheduled for Friday, 24 October 2025.
Ireland secured second place in Group B2 on goal difference, earning a place in the two-legged play-off for promotion to League A.
The second leg will take place in Belgium on Tuesday, 28 October 2025. Should the aggregate score be level after both matches, extra time and, if necessary, a penalty shoot-out will determine the winner.
This will be the fifth appearance by the Women’s National Team at the Aviva Stadium, where they have collectively drawn 117,438 spectators to date.
Head Coach Carla Ward welcomed the announcement and underlined the importance of the fixture.
“The game against Belgium is massive for us in wanting to get promoted to League A in the UEFA Nations League but also in helping us in the qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA World Cup,” she said. “It is fantastic that we will play the first leg in the Aviva Stadium.”
Ticketing and matchday information will be released in the coming weeks.
Northern Ireland will play Iceland, also for a place in Division One, but fixture details for that have yet to be announced.
