Bank of Ireland has been unveiled as the title sponsor for Ireland’s Nations Series fixtures against South Africa, Fiji and Australia in November 2022 and two pre-World Cup fixtures in August 2023 at the Aviva Stadium against Italy and England.
Bank of Ireland have been a long-time supporter of Irish Rugby, though exclusively through the four provinces and other smaller deals up until now.
Their support has been crucial to the development and support of both the professional and the domestic game.
They are also long-term partners of Sport for Business and support all of our rugby coverage, including the Business of Rugby Podcast.
This is a major signing for Irish Rugby, bringing another top-tier partner in to join Vodafone, Aviva, Aer Lingus, Energia, PwC and Aldi among others.
The Autumn Series was previously sponsored by Guinness but that deal ended when it was brought under the auspices of Six Nations Rugby with whom the brand already sponsors the Guinness Six nations.
The Bank of Ireland partnership is around the Irish games only. They will be televised here live on Virgin Media, as well as the Munster game against South Africa on Thursday, November 10th.
All the games not involving Ireland will be exclusively live here and across Britain and Northern Ireland on Amazon Prime.
“Bank of Ireland is a proud supporter of rugby in Ireland through our sponsorship of Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster Rugby,” said Interim CEO Gavin Kelly.
“Today, we are delighted to further strengthen our involvement as title sponsor of the Bank of Ireland Nations Series.”
“This new partnership with the IRFU underlines our long-term commitment to Irish rugby which is founded on the success of the provincial game and the extraordinary commitment of the players.”
“We share the excitement of rugby fans across Ireland as we look forward to a really exciting set of matches in November against some of the world’s best teams – South Africa, Fiji, and Australia.”
“Bank of Ireland have built a strong connection to Irish rugby through their investment in our game over the past 20 years,” added Kevin Potts, CEO of Irish Rugby.
“Their provincial sponsorships are hugely beneficial not just to the professional game, but to the continued development of provincial club competitions and female representative teams. The arrival of the World Champions South Africa to the Aviva Stadium is a great fixture to cement this new partnership.”
