beastvbike-FALeopardstown Racecourse is staging a unique race between ‘Horse Power and Pedal Power’ on August 14th, pitching two of Ireland’s leading sports stars against each other and raising funds for Our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin.

Nicolas Roche will be fresh from a hopeful completion in the Tour de France and he will be taking on six time Irish Champion Jockey Pat Smullen as the last race of the evening before the Charlatans take to the stage as part of the latest Bulmers Live events at the racecourse.

The race itself is to be sponsored by the Irish Independent and there is also a dinner event where businesses can provide some mid-summer hospitality to clients and staff and get a chance to meet Roche and learn about the life of a pro cyclist at the highest level.

“I am confident that I will come out of the Tour de France in top shape so now I just have to figure out how to beat one of Ireland’s top jockeys and trainers,” said Roche.

“It should be a great night, getting to meet some of Ireland’s biggest cycling fans, and sharing what my schedule is like at this time of the year.”

Proceeds from the Dinner will also go towards the Nicolas Roche Performance Team which develops and mentors young Irish Cyclists as they enter U23 and Elite ranks of pro cycling.

Sport for Business has secured a number of exclusive sponsorship opportunities around the event as well as some tables at the Dinner.
