The 2023 Irish Sport Industry Awards are open for nomination with entries closing this Friday 5th May.

Run by the Federation of Irish Sport and sponsored this year by Financial Brokers Ireland, they are the most prestigious recognition of the work that goes in around the business and delivery of sport in Ireland.

Sport for Business CEO Rob Hartnett is Chair of the judging panel which will be announced next week and each day between now and the closing date we will put our focus on one of the Award categories.

This morning that focus is on the Best Established and the Best New Sports Businesses of the Year:

The shortlists for these awards last year paint a picture of what kind of businesses might be nominated.

The Best Established Business saw StatSports emerge on top from a shortlist that also included Glofox, Cycle Superstore and Bohemian FC.

In the New Business category, the award went to Moby Bikes ahead of Output Sports, Score Beo and Emma Larkin Books.

The Awards will recognise sustained excellence by a business in the area of sport and physical activity on the island of Ireland that has delivered innovation, growth and leadership in the industry by creating a product or service which is truly original, pushing boundaries and addressing a gap in the market.

The New Business is defined as having been established in the last three years.

Previous winners include Orreco in Sligo for the established business, Uppercut and Sport for Business ourselves in the New Sports business category.
