As the second week of the European Games got underway in Krakow, Poland this morning, Team Ireland saw more success in Boxing, Rugby, Diving and Badminton.

The men’s Rugby Sevens team, captained by Harry McNulty, secured A 19-7 victory over Germany in their final Pool A game at lunchtime. James Topping’s team now advance to a quarter-final against Belgium this evening, keeping their hopes of Olympic qualification on course.

Meath’s Jenny Lehane was the first Irish boxer in the ring this morning, where she had a unanimous win (5-0) over her Greek counterpart Antonia Filippa Giannakopoulou in her Bantamweight last 16 bout.

Olympic champion Kellie Harrington followed up with another unanimous win over Elida Kocharyan of Armenia in the lightweight (60kg) division. Both Irish fighters now progress to the quarter-finals on Wednesday, where a win will secure all important Olympic qualification for Paris 2024.

In Badminton Joshua Magee and Moya Ryan have won their opener against Italy in the Mixed Doubles Group stage this morning 2-0 (21-14, 21-13).

In Diving Jake Passmore has made it through the 1M Springboard final this evening; his last event on this European Games programme.

In Archery Oskar Ronan was knocked out in the Men’s Recurve elimination round by Ukraine.
