The 2025 Cairn Community Games Multi-Sports Finals took place over last weekend, May 24th and 25th, marking a vibrant weekend of youth sport and community spirit across venues in Meath and Longford.
Over 1,400 children, aged 6 to 16, who had advanced through local and county competitions, participated across a multitude of sports.
At Gormanston Park in Meath, Sunday’s schedule featured competitions in table tennis, volleyball, badminton, futsal, cross country, mixed distance relays, cycling on grass, and a 5K race.
The atmosphere was electric as young athletes from across Ireland competed with enthusiasm and sportsmanship, embodying the spirit of the Games.
Saturday’s events there included basketball and Rugby 7s.
In Longford, the Drumlish Community Centre hosted girls’ handball on Saturday, while boys’ handball took place on Sunday.
Kenagh Community Centre was the venue for indoor soccer matches, adding to the weekend’s diverse sporting lineup.
Beyond the competitions, Gormanston Park offered a festive environment for families and spectators. Entertainment included face painting, balloon artists, stilt walkers, carnival games, and a dedicated game zone, ensuring enjoyment for attendees of all ages.
Cairn Homes came on board as overall sponsors of the Community Games in 2024 and they had their Mobile Training Centre on site providing interactive experiences, inspiring the next generation of Bob or Wendy the builders and engineers.
The weekend’s events were made possible through the dedication and energy of volunteers, coaches, and community members, all contributing to the success of the Games.
