Michael Corcoran is our Keynote Interviewee at Friday’s Irish Sport on Social Media Conference and it promises to be one that those present will not forget in a hurry.

Over the past five years he has been Head of Social Ta Ryanair, launching the company’s TikTok account and driving it into areas that an airline would not normally sit comfortably in but which have maintained its business lead despite the impact of the world shutting down in 2020.

It’s work on social has become the gold standard ranging from plane face filters to levels of engagement that even the most hard working influencer can only dream of.

It’s not a big budget operation but it has been at the highest level in creativity terms.

Corcoran has been the man behind the buttons, right up until a fractious departure this summer but now he is ready to emerge again and his phone is ringing off the hook.

We will benefit on friday from his passion for sport, and his strong views on how sporting sponsors and rights holders can shake up the way they work, for the benefit of fans, the brands, the players and the sports.

This really can be a win, win, win result.

Having started his career with Wilson Hartnell as a callow youth around the same time as we were creating Sport for Business, now is time for the circle to turn and for him to bring his unique perspective on marketing to us.

He will cap a line up of speakers that promises to give us a Friday morning that is a little out of the ordinary.

We will speak with the creators of the social strategy for the FAI at the Women’s World Cup and for the IRFU at the Men’s Rugby World Cup.

Add in a session on the lessons we have learned from social media activation in 2023 and what that means for 2024 from the team at Olytico, and it is an event you will not want to miss.
