Connacht Rugby and kit producers BLK were the first province in Ireland to produce a superhero feel to their teamwear two years ago with the special production of a green lantern kit.

They have kept that cartoon theme going with the launch last night of the new home kit to the 2017/18 season as can be seen above in the promotional imagery popping up on social media through the evening.

The new kit is on sale this morning exclusively through main sponsor Elvery’s Intersport and includes two new sponsors on shirt back and shorts in Brooks and Steeltech sheds as revealed earlier this week on Sport for Business.

The arrival of Kieran Keane as the new manager and the expansion of the Guinness Pro12 to Pro 14 this season, the latter which is likely to be formally confirmed next week, mean that there is plenty of excitement around the Province and hopes are high of a return to the winning season of 2016 when the team landed the ‘domestic’ title for the first time.
