Cork City FC has confirmed a new partnership with the Arc Cinema in Cork City. The deal includes an opportunity to show a number of away games on the big screen during the 2025 season, particularly those that will be difficult for fans to travel to – considered to be a first for a League of Ireland club.

The agreement also means that there will be a 30 second Cork City FC trailer before every movie at the Arc Cinema, which is located on North Main Street in Cork City.

The club played its first home game of the season against Galway Utd on the opening weekend in front of a crowd of more than 5,000 fans. Their second game on Sunday was a late postponement against Shamrock Rovers due to heavy rain and a waterlogged pitch.

“This is a really exciting year for the club as we look to take on Premier Division teams and we expect to see large turnouts at Turner’s Cross for all the home games,” said Anthony O’Sullivan, Commercial Manager of Cork City FC.

“The support from City fans has remained solid throughout the years and we know that while many of them would like to go to the away games, the distance means it’s not always possible.”

“This new partnership will give them an opportunity to see some of those games on the big screen along with a crowd – which is a first for any League of Ireland football team.”

“Cork City FC is a huge part of the culture of Cork and we are more than delighted to support the club as they embark on a new season in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division,” added Aoibhín Gallagher of Arc Cinema.

“We are really looking forward to showing some of the away games at the Arc Cinema where people can enjoy all the action along with fellow supporters which we believe will create a family-fun atmosphere for those who are not in a position to travel.”

SPORT FOR BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE

Great idea to give an opportunity to see away games in a communal setting and for a continual reminder of the club in front of every movie shown.
