Cricket Ireland has unveiled a striking new T20 International playing kit created by Macron, with one of Ireland’s most recognisable natural landmarks providing the creative spark ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The new design will be worn for the first time in competition when Ireland begin their World Cup campaign on 7 February in India and Sri Lanka, before becoming the standard T20 International shirt for both the Ireland Men’s and Women’s teams later in the year.

Now in its fourth year as Technical Partner of Cricket Ireland, Macron has drawn inspiration from the rugged Irish coastline, with the distinctive geology of the Giant’s Causeway at the heart of the concept.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site, formed by thousands of interlocking hexagonal basalt columns of volcanic origin, is one of the island’s most iconic natural features and a centrepiece of the Causeway Coastal Route, which links with the Wild Atlantic Way stretching more than 2,500 kilometres down Ireland’s west coast.

The predominantly green colour palette continues the visual identity established in recent Ireland kits. Darker green sleeves and shoulders are balanced by a lighter green across the front, back and three-button collar, while light-blue vertical bands run along the sides and around the shoulders.

An all-over, tone-on-tone graphic depicts both the columns of the Giant’s Causeway and waves crashing against them, subtly weaving landscape and movement into the fabric of the shirt.

The kit is completed by navy long trousers with white drawstrings and green side bands at calf height, mirroring the graphic elements of the jersey. The Cricket Ireland crest sits proudly on the left chest, with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 logo on the right and Macron’s white Hero emblem positioned on the sleeve.

Sustainability has been placed at the core of the design and manufacturing process. All garments are produced using Eco Fabric, a 100 per cent recycled polyester derived from plastic waste. The primary textile, Eco Gotex, has been developed specifically for elite-level match kits, combining durability with performance, while Eco Mesh inserts enhance breathability and keep the garment lightweight under the demands of international cricket.

“Our partnership with Cricket Ireland continues to develop through projects that combine technical innovation, identity and performance,” said Macron CEO Gianluca Pavanello.

“Designing kits for a national team competing at the highest international level means delivering products that meet the demands of elite cricket, while also reflecting the values and heritage of Irish sport. These new kits are the result of close collaboration and a shared ambition to support players with garments that are high-performing, sustainable and distinctive.”

The unveiling comes just days before the start of a World Cup hosted across two of cricket’s most passionate nations.

“We are really delighted to unveil our new T20I jersey on the eve of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026,” added Ross McCollum, interim CEO of Cricket Ireland.

“Competing in a World Cup hosted by India and Sri Lanka marks a truly special chapter for Irish cricket, and we know our supporters back home and around the world will be proudly backing green through every ball.”

“The vision behind this shirt was to create a design that represents the island of Ireland, and through the symbolism of our rugged coastline, the players will literally wear the pride of Ireland on the biggest stage of them all,” he added.

The shirt retails for €80 in adult sizes and €75 in junior sizes, with both long and short sleeves. Macron and Cricket Ireland will also reveal new ODI and Test playing shirts in advance of the 2026 home international summer.
