Croke Park will play host to a double header of Hurling and Football Championship knock-out action on Saturday, but with the RTÉ cameras switching to the TUS Gaelic Grounds after Dublin’s Hurling clash with Limerick.
Dublin against Cork in the football championship, where the loser’s season comes to an end, will be shown on GAA+ together with the other three All-Ireland Preliminary Quarter Finals.
They will include Kerry against Cavan with a 15:30 throw-in at Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney, also on Saturday; Down against Galway from Páirc Esler in Newry at 13:45 on Sunday, and Donegal against Louth from Ballybofey at 16:00 also on Sunday.
RTÉ will show the other All-Ireland Hurling Championship Quarter Final between Galway and Kilkenny at 18:15 on Saturday, and both Semi-Finals in the Tailltean Cup, between Wicklow and Limerick at 14:00 and Kildare and Fermanagh at 16:00 from Croke Park on Sunday.
Having all four Football Championship games on GAA+ will undoubtedly set a record level of engagement with the service, and also likely prompt high attendance figures at each of the four grounds.
The promotion of the second-tier Tailltean Cup matches is another strong step in its growth in popularity, not only among players and the most committed fans, but also among those who tune in to the games that RTÉ is showing at the weekend.

SPORT FOR BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE
With a week of sunshine and every game being a ‘win or go home’ outcome, the GAA Championship season gets very serious this weekend. The fact that all four of the primary football games are behind the GAA+ paywall will doubtless raise some hackles but with a package of €49 to watch all four games and two of the following weekend’s quarter finals for €49, less than two tickets to any one of the games, it is perhaps more of a philosophical gripe than a financial one for true fans.
