Currys is to extend extend its deal as Official Supplier to Munster Rugby for a further 12 months.
The partner deal, which began two years ago, will see the club continue to be provided with a range of cutting-edge technology that will help to assist and analyse players’ performances across Munster Rugby.
The top-of-the-range technology provided by Currys is a vital resource for Munster Rugby’s performance staff as they help to prepare the province’s players and coaches for the season-defining moments that lie ahead. This technology includes:
The latest iMac computers and MacBook’s to support the team’s coaches’ video analysis for training and Game Review as well as opposition scout prep; large screen QNED LG TVs with the latest in display technology to provide an optimum viewing experience for In Game live review; and top of the range videography equipment including Go Pros Action cameras and DJI Mavic Drone to capture training from multiple angles so players and coaching staff can use it to review aspects of their performance.
It is the kind of partnership that makes sense for both sides with the benefits of a partnership offset against the cost of providing equipment that would otherwise be a financial drain on the province.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be renewing our partnership with Munster Rugby and know that the technology we’ve been providing will continue to help to enhance the game for players all across the Academy,” said Currys Marketing Manager Emma Murphy.
“At Currys, we offer the very best in computer technology, and we are delighted to play our part in helping Munster Rugby for a further 12 months. We look forward to seeing the team perform over the upcoming season.”
“The Performance Analysis Department is in place to support the team with all its technical requirements for finding % gains through use of video and data analysis,” said Head Performance Analyst, George Murray.
“Using Apple products and drones provided by Currys , the analysis team capture all the footage at training using Hudl Software to analyse all team and individual moments.
In Match, the Analysis team provide instant visual and data related feedback to coaches on monitors supplied by Currys to make real time changes and increase the win potential of the team.”
“Post-match, all game and individual performance footage along with opposition scout files are shared with the coaching staff on laptops provided by Currys to analyse and conduct research in order to review game footage and plan for their next game.”
