The Camogie All Ireland Finals take place at Croke Park this weekend and the Association has had its star players out promoting the day in Dublin.

They produced a video preview from what went on turning it quickly and giving good insight into the players, the teams and the excitement of the big day.

Billy Stickland from Inpho was also on hand to produce striking images such as the one above of Cork and Kilkenny Senior Captains Ashling Thompson and Michelle Quilty.

This year’s Championship has been one of the best in recent years, with a number of high-profile games only being decided with the final puck of a ball and many going to extra-time. Both Senior Semi-Finals and the Premier Junior deciders between Carlow and Westmeath went to extra-time in what has been a superb advertisement for the game of Camogie.

“It’s been a thrilling Championship so far and we can now look forward to the biggest day in the Camogie calendar and what should be a truly wonderful spectacle,” said Catherine Neary, Camogie Association President.

“The six teams lining out are an inspiration to their communities, their clubs and of course their counties and they deserve every ounce of support they get.”

“People were blown away by the speed and technical skill on display in the Semi-Finals that were broadcast live on RTÉ One television and we’re looking forward to more of the same,” she added. “Good luck to all of this year’s finalists.”

Speaking at Captain’s Day in Croke Park, Deirdre Ashe, Director of Personal Lines for Liberty Insurance, said: “It has been another extraordinary season of Camogie; in addition to the two memorable Semi-Finals which both went to extra-time, our Squad Goals competition has been running throughout this year’s Championship and we’re now down to the Final. We encourage everyone to #supporthersport and come to Croke Park to see the Camogie clubs of Castleknock and St. Lachtain’s take to the field and battle it out to win €5,000 for their club”.
