Timing partners are becoming one of the most active of sponsor categories in sport with Tissot and Tag Heuer revealing new campaigns this week to highlight their respective relationships with the RBS 6 Nations and Premier League.

Tissot has chosen to go down the route of association with the referee and feature Nigel Owens in their campaign under the hashtag #RespectTheRef.

Owens will wear a special limited edition Tissot watch this weekend for the Ireland Vs France game, one which features a touch option to start and stop the time rather than looking for a button.

“We must never lose respect for the game,” said Owens.

“Even though this campaign is specifically aimed at respect towards referees, I think it covers rugby as a whole, and as a referee myself, I know the value and importance of that respect.”
