The RDS was the subject of a fresh look from Nationwide on RTÉ on Friday which can be seen on the RTÉ Player here.
It is the biggest event centre in the country and home to Leinster Rugby’s matchday experience as well as the Dublin Horse Show which has been held on the grounds in Ballsbridge since the Society moved there from Leinster House in 1924.
The Irish team won the very first ‘Grand International Military Jumping Competition’ for the Aga Khan Trophy, against opposition from France and Sweden.
The programme outlined the 300-year history of the Society and its philanthropic work across 14 different programmes from the arts and science to music and agriculture.
It may not have been the way that most Sport for Business readers would have hoped to experience the RDS on a Friday night, but it was a nice way to remember the deep foundations on which Irish sport is based and which will stand to it as we seek to navigate a return to action in the future.
What might a 2020 Championship look like?
