Dublin stars back to training
Dublin’s All Ireland Champion footballers were back in training this morning as management seaks to repeat the January schedule that brought success in 2011.  Speaking after the Dublin Bus sponsored Dublin All Stars games on New Year’s Day, manager Pat Gilroy was keen to stress that the tactics on the training pitch that served them well would be repeated.  This is despite the absence of team trainer Mickey Whelan who retired last year but who has left a documented plan for the existing support team to implement.  Both the Dublin Footballers and Hurlers beat their respective club selected opponents in the new Years Day event at Thomas Davis GAA Club in Tallaght.
Bord Gáis Neptune fight back in Super League
Bord Gáis Neptune clung on to top spot in the Southern Conference of the Nivea for Men Super League with victory over UL Eagles on Monday night.  The Cork side had been rocked by defeat on Friday to UCC Demons who still have a game in hand and will go top with victory over Killester at the Mardyke next Sunday.  In this week’s issue of Sport for Business Weekly we will look at the dropping of TV coverage for this year’s National Cup Finals.
Keane to return to England on loan
Aston Villa are looking to bring back Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane on a two month loan deal to coincide with the current off season in the USA.  If a deal was agreed it would mean his linking up at club level with Irish teammates Shay Given and Richard Dunne.
