Toyota Ireland has signed a three-year deal making the leading car brand the official car partner to Dublin GAA.
Toyota will provide a total of 16 vehicles for players and management of the Dublin senior football and hurling teams. The models being provided are the Auris and Avensis. Each panel will also benefit from a Toyota Proace to transport their kit around the country as they compete in the All Ireland Championships and Allianz Leagues.
Since stepping back from the top level sponsorship of Munster Rugby after ten years, Toyota has focused on partnering with teams and individual ambassadors. They have similar relationships with Cricket Ireland, and with individual stars including Katie Taylor and Fionnuala Britton.
The deal comes against a background of strong sales in the Irish market with overall car sales since the start of the year up by 26% and Toyota leading the way with a rise of 50%.
“We at Toyota Ireland are delighted to partner with Dublin GAA and support some of the most talented footballers and hurlers in the country,” said Ian Corbett, Marketing Operations Manager for Toyota Ireland.
“We are looking forward to the season ahead and to working with Dublin GAA as the teams look to add further silverware to the trophy cabinet.”
Tomás Quinn, Commercial & Marketing Manager, Dublin GAA, added “Dublin GAA are delighted to welcome Toyota on board as our new Official Car Partner for the next 3 years. We are excited about this new relationship which brings together two organisations who are both committed to continuous improvement and excellence with equally matched high ambitions.”
Dublin last week announced that Coca Cola’s deep River Rock brand was to be their official hydration partner in a similar three year deal. These and others are in addition to the five year overall sponsorship of Dublin GAA signed up by AIG at the end of 2013.
