The Connacht Minor Football ChampionshipmFinal between Galway and Mayo will be streamed live this evening thanks to a partnership between TG4 and Electric Ireland.

The match will be shown on TG4’s YouTube Channel, on the Electric Ireland website and social channels as well as on GAANow, the GAA’s own social broadcast medium.

Galway won by 2-12 to 0-11 when the sides met in the round-robin phase of the competition and are favourites to win tonight. They have made it to the All Ireland final in 2016 and 2018.

Electric Ireland has sponsored the GAA All-Ireland Minor Championships since 2012, and two years ago committed to the Championship through to 2021.

The Championship Haircut activation has been in place at matches through this year after it’s success in 2018 and this is one of the matches which the brand and the broadcaster are coming together to bring to a wider audience that can make it to Tuam Stadium.

It is part of a wider move towards live streaming which is making games more accessible and which brands are keen to enable as part of their sponsorship rights.

Next week on Sport for Business we will kick off a series of features looking in greater depth at the changing face of broadcast sport here and further afield.
