The Energia All-Ireland League Awards for the 2024/25 season were announced on Thursday evening at a special ceremony hosted at Bective Rangers’ clubhouse. The awards recognise outstanding achievements in Irish club rugby across men’s and women’s divisions.
Among the special guests were Ireland Women’s Head Coach Scott Bemand, Women’s Scrum Coach Denis Fogarty, and Ireland Men’s and British and Irish Lions Assistant Coaches John Fogarty and Andrew Goodman.
The event followed a thrilling season finale at the Aviva Stadium, where 4,328 fans witnessed the Men’s and Women’s Finals doubleheader.
St Mary’s College centre Dan Goggin and UL Bohemian winger Eilís Cahill were named Energia AIL Men’s Division 1A and Women’s Player of the Year, respectively.
Goggin impressed in his debut season with consistent performances, while Cahill capped off her campaign with a last-minute try to seal victory in the Women’s Final.
The Energia Possibilities Award went to Lansdowne FC, who rebounded from a difficult start to win the All-Ireland Bateman Cup and mount a strong second half to their season.
Coaching excellence was also recognised, with Quenton O’Neale of Old Belvedere named Men’s Coach of the Year, and Jason Moreton of Wicklow receiving the Women’s Coach of the Year award.
In a celebration of community spirit, Cathal Quaid of Young Munster was awarded the Community Hero Award. A key figure in his club, Quaid has taken on multiple roles including minis coach, assistant secretary, and spearheaded the creation of a new U21s pathway.
Dan Carson was named Referee of the Season for his contributions on the field.
Energia Managing Director Gary Ryan praised the winners: “Your achievements are a reflection of the dedication and passion that define the All-Ireland League. We’re already looking forward to what next season will bring.”
IRFU President Declan Madden echoed the sentiment, adding: “This season was a special one, coinciding with the IRFU’s 150th anniversary. Club rugby remains at the heart of the game in Ireland, and Energia’s support is instrumental in helping it thrive.”
