The Spar Great Ireland Run takes place this Sunday and over 12,000 are expected to take part.  2012 is the tenth anniversary of the event in Dublin.
Apart from the main event which features double World and Olympic Champion Kenenisa Bekele, there is also a Business Challenge in which Accenture are bidding to retain their trophy from last year and for which Zurich Insurance have one of the largest team entries of more than 60.
Over 1,000 runners aged between 6 and 15 have been entered for what will be the largest Children’s running event in the country as well.  The Junior and Mini races will take place at 11.15 and 11.30am using the same start and finish areas as the main race which gets under way at 1pm.
The race will be televised live by RTE television on Sunday.
Sport for Business will host a Members Round Table event on Children’s Participation in Sport on Friday, April 27th at 9am in Dublin.
