We are delighted this morning to confirm the full and final line up of speakers for Thursday morning’s The Sporting Year Ahead.
The FAI’s new Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Hill get things underway with a keynote interview with Sport for Business CEO Rob Hartnett looking ahead to his first full year in the job, a World Cup Qualifying Campaign and a reputation recovery mission for the Association.
He will be followed by Martin Murphy, CEO of the Aviva Stadium with whom we will look at overcoming the challenges of the past twelve months and at the prospect of a return for fans to live sport during the course of the Year.
The third element of the morning will see Rob Pearson, Caroline Kelly and Peter Sweeney of teneo take a Deep Dive into the Sports Sponsorship Sentiment Research conducted as we exited 2020.
They will be followed by a conversation with Michael Geen of AIB, Eimhear Breen of BoyleSports and Vicki Donlon of Leopardstown Racecourse on the ways in which sponsorship adapted last year and will continue to do so through 2021.
We will be joined by Chris Bird, CEO of Sports Travel international for hs informed perspective on when we might see a return to international travel for fans and participants below the elite level.
The formal; part of the morning will have Rob Hartnett joined by Peter Sherrard, CEO of the Olympic Federation of Ireland to discuss the way that Team Ireland is gearing up for the eventual staging of the Tokyo Games in July.
