This year’s Sport for Business PwC 30 under 30 met up this morning in the Dublin offices of PwC and the energy in the room was enough to light up the Aviva Stadium we could see in the background from the seventh floor.
Everyone got to walk to the podium and tell us about themselves an exercise some found daunting in advance but which everyone enjoyed in a really supporting and encouraging environment.
This initiative kicked off in 2016 and we now have over 200 ‘alumni’ working at every level of the sports industry.
This year’s intake will be a fabulous addition and a workshop session at the end of this morning’s gathering will produce a number of ways in which we will add value to their nomination, from the Podcast series which has already begun to the potential for additional gatherings, trips to the bases of others in the group, the potential for a mentor network and more.
The group heard from previous nominees Laura Byrne, now a Senior Sponsorship manager with Bank of Ireland, Paddy Murphy heading up the Sports Law practice at Ogier Leman and Fergus Grimes of Score Bero whose own business, created while looking for GAA results on his J1 visa is really taking off.
The group made new friendships and left buzzing for what might be possible.
What a great way to spend a Friday morning and thanks to PwC for making it possible.
