
Guests who were there for what they thought was the launch of the ‘coin toss promotion which gives merchandise and the chance to toss the coin at the World Cup Final to anyone who buys a Heineken during the course of the promotion.
All was not as it seemed with a vending machine that was part of the event though…
World Cup legend Lomu said: “This Heineken video was a lot of fun to shoot,” said Lomu who scored 15 tries at World Cup Finals during his All Black career.
“The Irish are known for their sense of humour across the world, so I was delighted to put that to the test. Seeing peoples’ faces as they tried to figure out what was going on was a real highlight.”
“We were excited to announce the new ‘It’s Your Call’ campaign. It promises to give rugby fans some world-class experiences during what is set to be the biggest edition of the Rugby World Cup to date,” said Heineken Communications Brand Manager, Conor McIntyre.
“We decided to have a little fun with the launch, and put some unsuspecting rugby fans to the test, with one of the tournament’s most legendary players. It was certainly something that got people talking.”
