The weekend of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic will be boosted further by the return of High School teams to play at Energia Park in Dublin on Friday, August 25th.

Dublin Friday Lights will see a triple header of games featuring the Community School of Naples taking on the Irish Wolfhounds, Seton Hall Prep School playing reigning Tennessee State Champions Baylor and the Bonner and Prendie Friars of Philadelphia facing the NFL UK Academy team.

The teams will spend the week prior to the games travelling around Ireland, taking part in hurling and Gaelic football experiences with our friends at Experience Gaelic Games and taking part in educational events.

“These are exciting times for the growth of American Football globally,” said Global Football founder Patrick Steenberge.

“I am proud to play a small role in that continued expansion by working closely with the schools and teams from three countries and four US states to showcase their football talents while experiencing the wonders of Ireland.”

The tournament took place here ahead of previous tournaments in 2012 and 2016 with the party atmosphere aided by the teams being too big to fit in the changing rooms at Energia Park and having their setups for halftime outside in full view of the crowds.

That Friday will also see Pep Rallies taking place in and around Dublin city and the annual US-CEO Club Lunch at the Mansion House.

40,000 fans are coming into Ireland from the US and Europe to see the game, one of the most storied matchups in College Football. They will deliver one of the biggest single-event boosts to Irish economic activity in a decade.
