They came from far and wide last night for the annual Hurling for Cancer match in Newbridge and the thousands of fans were treated to a thriller.
If Sunday’s All Ireland Final produces a 3-17 to 4-12 thriller then nobody will be leaving Croke Park without tingling.
On this occasion, it was Davy Russell’s team sporting the red of Cork that came out on top over Jim Bolger’s Wexford look-alikes.
That meant bragging rights for Brendan Cummins over Damien Fitzhenry, for Aisling Thompson over Ursula Jacob and for Brian Cody over Davy Fitz.
Here are a selection of the images from the night captured by the lads from Sportsfile and including one that Tony McCoy couldn’t resist of him with Paul McGrath.
The night is a major fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society and you can play your part by donating here.
