The All Ireland Hurling Final will capture the nation on Sunday in many different ways and forms.

Most will be tuned in to RTÉ Sport for their extensive coverage of the first ever clash at this stage of Waterford and Galway.

For many more though it will be seen through the medium of social media and online.  All three of the sponsors of the hurling Championship have been heavily involved in the final countdown with Bord Gais Energy taking to Galway last night with Newstalk for an Off the Ball special featuring greats of the tribesmen’s glorious past.

Their hashtag #HurlingtotheCore will be worth tracking over the weekend to see some good graphics similar to this produced around the semi final victories of Sunday’s two teams.

Littlewoods Ireland has been running their #StyleofPlay promotion throughout and Centra have switched much of their TV advertising to promoting #WeAreHurling.

For hurling fans, it is less a sport and more a quasi-religion.  Recognising the passion and the love for the game that runs so deep has served the commercial sponsors well in the run up to the tournament and we will be watching out for how they look to share the pinnacle of the game on Sunday.

The GAA, RTÉ Sport, Bord Gais Energy and Littlewoods Ireland are among the more than 220 organisations that play an active part of the Sport for Business community.
