Tony McCoy rode his 4,000th winner yesterday on a horse owned by JP McManus called Mountain Tunes at a racecourse in England called Towcester. To those within racing this achievement is beyond doubt the greatest to have have ever been set within this or any other sport. To place it in context the second most successful jump jockey of all time rode 1,699. My Grandfather Jack Barrett rode Honor’s Choice to win the Galway Hurdle in 1939. He would have enjoyed this moment as will anyone who has any connection to racing and sport. We live in a time of a racing legend that will never be forgotten. – RH
