Shane Lowry’s sponsor Immedis, a specialist division of the Taxback Group, has given over its position on his shirt at this week’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Open to the 20×20 campaign.

The logo now sits alongside fellow Irish brands Bank of Ireland, Teneo and Kingspan on the Open Champions gear, allowing it to be broadcast and captured for a worldwide audience.

Fellow golfer Leona Maguire is also supporting the campaign alongside her key partner KPMG, while Stephanie Meadow has also been an ambassador and fulfills a similar role with Immedis since earlier this year.

Sport has always been something special for me. Not only has it given me a livelihood, but it has also given me tremendous pleasure both when playing it and watching it. No matter what my daughter, Iris does in the future, I hope that she gets the same enjoyment from sport that I have. I want her to have role models, and I want more than anything for her to have the same opportunities that boys would have.”

Lowry and Immedis’ support for the movement comes as the final chapter and 20×20 message to #ThinkItAskIt in order to provoke more progress for women’s sport hits full stride.

“I am extremely proud to be able to lend our voice to the 20×20 movement and I hope it will raise awareness of this incredibly important movement,” said Immedis CEO Ruari Kelleher.

“As a father of a daughter it is something, I am extremely passionate about and while our action is very simple, we hope that the impact can leave a significant legacy”.

“20×20 isn’t women for women, it’s all of society for all of society. It’s so important to have top male athletes support women in sport,” said Sarah Colgan, Co-Founder of the 20×20 Campaign.

“We are proud to see Shane wear the 20×20 logo at The Irish Open 2020 and proud to have Immedis as a partner.”

Eight of the nine companies under Taxback group have women at director levels with six of the companies led by women. Taxback group was also named as one of the top places to work for women in 2020. Immedis’ support of the 20×20 campaign recognises the company’s strong diversity values and support to women in the sporting space.
