Roscommon GAA SponsorshipOne of the world’s largest commercial real estate companies is to feature on the back of a GAA jersey for the first time this year.

AIG’s first appearance on the shirts of Dublin GAA may have garbered the most column inches at the start of the GAA sponsorship year but deals have also been struck away from the heady heights of the All Ireland Football Champions.

Roscommon GAA have renewed its current sponsorship with John and Lily Murphy, which sees a logo promoting Hospice Foundations on the front of the Senior Football Team Jersey and for a third year.

The county has also taken advantage of the change in rules last year enabling teams to carry secondary sponsors in different areas of their kit.  Roscommon was the county that brought the motion to facilitate this change to the GAA Congress in 2012.

BNP Paribas Real Estate is now on board as an Associate Sponsor of the team, a move which sees the logo of one of the world’s largest financial and Real Estate Institutions appear on the back of the jersey.

This sponsorship was delivered by ‘Club Rossie’, the new commercial and fundraising arm of Roscommon GAA.

“The addition of BNP Paribas as associate sponsor marks the beginning of a new chapter for Roscommon GAA,” said County Board Chairman Michael Fahey.

“As the county that brought a motion to Annual Congress in 2012 seeking permission to allow increased sponsorship space on shirts we are delighted to put the rule into practice.”

“BNP Paribas Real Estate Ireland are delighted and proud to be associated with the sponsorship of the Roscommon GAA senior football team in 2014,” said Thomas Carthy, Executive Director of BNP Paribas in Ireland.

The company has a long and strong relationship with Tennis in this country and around the world but this is a first move into one of the major field sports.
