Ireland’s leading esports tournament, the An Post Money Mate Legion Esports Series, recently saw Ireland’s top FIFA players take on a host of international stars representing clubs including Liverpool FC, Aston Villa FC and West Ham United.
The tournament, which was also sponsored by Trust Gaming and GamerStore.ie, saw 140 players going head to head for the €1,000 Prize Pool generating 14,000 live stream views and 4,560 minutes of player engagement.
After two weeks of intense gameplay and action-packed matches Manuel Bachoore of Dutch club PSV Eindhoven was crowned champion after he defeated Cameron Rock of Aston Villa FC in the Grand Final 6 – 2.
“To have attracted the calibre of players to an Irish tournament has been incredibly pleasing,” said Legion Esports co-founder and CEO Stuart Dempsey.
“We’ve also successfully launched our new partnership with An Post Money Mate, and we continue to explore a range of collaboration opportunities which we hope to announce in the near future.”
“The engagement from the Irish gaming community continues to exceed expectations so we’re really looking forward to the continued growth of the series.”
The quality of the play is probably every bit as good as we will see tonight in the opening games of the actual UEFA Champions League…
The An Post Money Mate Legion Esports Series continues with the Autumn Ambush Fortnite tournament this month, followed by a FIFA 22 tournament in November.
