The 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships are underway today and we will have two Irish stars taking part in Kitakyushu, Japan

Emma Slevin, who made history this year by becoming the first Irish gymnast to qualify for All-Around Finals in a European Gymnastics Championships, is up first.

Emma is due to compete in the early hours of tonight with her qualifiers scheduled for 11-15 AM local time, 3-15 in the morning here.

She will compete on all four women’s apparatus through the morning and if she qualifies the Final will take place from 6-30 PM local time, 10-30 AM here in Ireland on Thursday.

Rhys McClenaghan also made history for Ireland this year by becoming the first Irish gymnast to compete at an Olympic final. He will compete in the qualifiers for the Pommel Horse on Wednesday 20th October at 3.10 pm local time, 7.10 am Irish time.

His final, should he make it through again to compete at the very highest level, will be on at 6 PM local time and 10 AM Irish time on Saturday.

All the action is being broadcast on the International Gymnastics Federation YouTube channel and it is possible that a feed will be made available on RTÉ and the RTÉ Player if either of our gymnasts do progress to their Finals.
