The Republic of Ireland Women’s National team will head to Kazakhstan and then host them in the first round of the final play-offs to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil next summer.
If they are successful, they will then have to overcome the winners of the Belgium-Poland match, two opponents with whom Carla Ward’s side have a very recent history.
Northern Ireland must overcome Portugal in the first round before a potential second-round tie against the winners of the Croatia-Iceland match.
Match dates and details for the ties in October and November will be announced in the coming days.
