February 2026 Highlights on TikTok

Overview

Sport for Business member organisations posted 513 TikToks (+25%) last month. These posts resulted in 835,045 engagements (+5%) and 11.1 million views (-29%).

As with the other channels we are comparing these figures to those of 2025 and 2024.  With the exception of Facebook which showed an increase in engagement, each of the other channels has shown a drop in engagement, and in TikTok’s case views, when compared to last year.

In February 2025 400 TikToks were posted by Sport for Business members resulting in 1.92 million engagements and what was at the time a a record-breaking 36.98 million views.

The top six organisations in the listing above all dropped in terms of engagement per post with Basketball Ireland the highest placed to have raised its engagement from 621 a year ago to 1,722 last month.

Three organisations broke the magic million views for the month the United Rugby Championship leading the way yet again with 3.1 million views, followed by League of Ireland (2.48 million), and Ireland Football (1.2 million), while a year ago Irish Rugby, Ulster Rugby and Leinster Rugby also hit that mark.

Specific Highlights

The NIFL topped the activity charts with 110 posts, and they were followed by the League of Ireland (79) and the URC (78).

On engagement-per-post performance, Irish Rugby delivered last month’s strongest results, averaging 8,996 engagements per post, with ‘Big Stu’ and a trending format delivering the ‘most shared’ content in Feb.

Ulster Rugby (7,630) and Ireland Football (7,589) completed the top three.

The month’s top-performing TikTok also came from rugby, with the United Rugby Championship highlighting this wholesome content from South Africa with a 13-year-old Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.

Mr Groom and Mr Jacobs clearly have plenty to be proud of, having helped lay the foundations for a future Springbok superstar. The post has already surpassed 500,000 views and generated close to 50,000 public engagements.
