The Ireland Women’s National Team host their first home game of 2024 when they welcome Cyrmu to Tallaght Stadium this evening.

Northern Ireland are also in action, hoping to press home the advantage of a 2-0 win away in Montenegro to secure their League B status.

Having drawn away to Italy in Florence last Friday, Eileen Gleeson’s team will now aim to make the most of their last preparation game before the UEFA EURO 2025 qualifiers kick off.

This will be the first international game in which the new North Stand at the Stadium is open and there is the potential for this being a record attendance at the ground for an Irish game.

over 8,000 tickets have been sold to date but there has been an issue with people buying but then not turning up, despite others not being able to get tickets.  Hopefully that won’t be the case tonight.

A record 36,000 fans watched the team play Northern Ireland at the Aviva Stadium last September and there are some big games ahead now that they have been promoted to League A in the UEFA Women’s Nations League.

The draw for that will take place next Tuesday, when Ireland could be drawn alongside World Champions ~Spain, Euro Champions England, the Netherlands, Germany or France.

Tonight’s game kicks off at 7-30 PM and will be televised live on RTÉ2.

Katie McCabe is in line for her 55th cap as Captain and has scored three times in six games against Cymru.

Goals in their recent encounters have been rare enough with only three in the last four meetings.

This will be the sixth different venue in Ireland that the sides have met in with Markets Field, Tolka Park, Dalymount Park, the Carlisle Grounds, and Turners Cross having been used before.
