KPMG has this morning announced that it has renewed its sponsorship of the KPMG Irish Kids Golf Tour for the 2021 season.

Played across some of Ireland’s best golf courses, the Tour offers professionally conducted competitions helping to develop juniors on and off the golf course in preparation for competitive golf.

KPMG’s sponsorship of the Irish Kids Golf Tour is part of a grassroots to high-performance investment in Irish golf that also sees them support leading Irish pro golfer, Leona Maguire, a relationship that began with her decision to turn professional in 2018.

Open to girls and boys aged from 6 to 13 years old with an entry fee of €38, this year’s KPMG Irish Kids Tour kicks off in the PGA National Ireland, Slieve Russell on the 20th of June. Followed by two other provincial events, the KPMG Irish Kids Golf Tour will culminate in an All-Ireland Championship staged at Carton House on the 25th and 26th of August.

The final of the 2020 KPMG Irish Kids Golf Tour that had to be postponed last year due to Covid restrictions, will also take place that same weekend.

Last year’s Tour saw over 500 young aspiring competitive golfers compete in the four provincial events across Ulster, Munster, Leinster and Connacht.

“We’re delighted to support the return of the KPMG Irish Kids Golf Tour this summer,” said KPMG Managing Partner, Seamus Hand.

“This investment in golf at a grassroots level gives kids across Ireland a chance to participate in fun events and it’s an important aspect of our support for golf.”

PGA National Slieve Russell based PGA Professional Gordon Smyth co-founded the tour with Ciaran Cahill.

“It is testament to the great popularity of golf amongst kids in Ireland that we’re already fully booked out for this year’s events. We could not host the Irish Kids Golf Tour without the support of KPMG. We are grateful to them for their continued support for the Tour given the key role it plays in providing a competitive outlet for grassroots junior golfers at an early stage in their development enabling us, hopefully, to uncovers some stars of the future.”
