1048870Laya Healthcare will launch a major new concussion screening programme with Leinster Rugby later today.  The programme will deliver 1,350 baseline screenings to young amateur rugby players from Leinster clubs.

The programme is part of Laya Healthcare’s partnership in Health and Wellbeing with Leinster and could not come at a more opportune time.

George Hook was across the airwaves yesterday urging Jonathan Sexton to speak to his family about retiring following another knock in Paris while the story of a row between the referee and a parent in a Leinster schools game last week, reported in the Irish Times on Saturday, was a sobering reminder that concussion is yet to strike the necessary chord with a number of those who play the game throughout its levels.

This is an example of how a smart sponsorship can deliver real value in sport.  Rob Kearney together with medical practitioners and officials from Laya Healthcare will be speaking openly at the launch.  We will cover what they say in full on Wednesday morning.
