Leopardstown Racecourse has confirmed the continued sponsorship of the Group 3 Willis Towers Watson Champions Juvenile Stakes on the opening day of Longines Irish Champions Weekend at Leopardstown on Saturday, September 9.

Willis Towers Watson is a global multinational risk management, insurance brokerage and advisory company, operating in more than 140 countries with a workforce of more than 40,000 employees around the world.

It was founded in 1841 and has offices in Ireland in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick.

“Willis Towers Watson is delighted to be able to continue our association with Leopardstown and the prestigious Irish Champions Weekend,” said Brian Curtis, Managing Director of the company here.

“As a dynamic and respected team in the bloodstock and horse racing insurance industry, we wanted to reflect our commitment to the sport through the continued sponsorship of the Group 3 Willis Towers Watson Champions Juvenile Stakes.”

“We’re looking forward to seeing some of the sports top juveniles contest the race on what should be a spectacular weekend of horse racing.”

The race was won in 2013 by Australia who went on to be rated the third best racehorse in the world the following year.

The €100,000 Willis Towers Watson Champions Juvenile Stakes is part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge ‘Win & You’re In’ series – a series of thoroughbred horse races in the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia, South Africa and South American in which the winner earns an automatic spot in a specified Breeders’ Cup race.
