Sport Ireland’s Sport Innovation and Technology Summit takes place today in front of a sold-out crowd on the Sport Ireland Campus.

The Summit places a spotlight on innovation, digital transformation and technology in Irish sport and brings together enterprise, technology and leaders in sport to explore how innovation and technology is shaping the future of sport.

This Summit aims to

  • Create opportunity for discussion and debate on what the future may look like for sport in Ireland.
  • Showcase some emerging technology in sport
  • Provide a showcase and networking opportunity for Irish sport companies, research and sport bodies in Ireland.
  • Provide guidance on how sport bodies can progress their digital journeys
  • Will include input from experts in the field of technology, international contributors and an exhibition area for Irish companies and other organisations.

The Summit is being run in collaboration with the Innovation Exchange and is supported by a range of partners including, Enterprise Ireland, Sport Tech Ireland, IDA, Science Foundation Ireland and TUD.

Rob Hartnett from Sport for Business will be interviewing Merit Cloquet, the Managing Director of Sport Innovators, a leading sports innovation network in the Netherlands with over 200 member organisations.

Padraig Harrington and Jason Smyth will both present an athlete’s perspective on the way in which innovation helped them to stay on top and there are many other high-level speakers taking part as can be seen from the agenda below.


This promises to be a very special day and one from which a multitude of ideas can be given heft by virtue of being put in front of the right minds and eyes.

There is an Expo as part of the day with Sport for Business members KPMG, Sportskey, Future Ticketing, TUS and Clubspot among the exhibitors, as well as others led by those who have featured in our Sport for Business 30 under 30 including Output Sports, Precision Sports Technology and Orrecco.

We will be live at the Sport Ireland Campus throughout the day and sharing select content on social media before carrying a review on Sport for Business tomorrow morning.
