We will be in the International Rugby Experience in Limerick this morning to launch a major new report into Ireland’s Sports Tech Industry, and the bright future it promises.
The last 5 years has seen exponential growth across the sportstech industry both in Ireland and globally with significant growth and success here in Ireland.
There is a lot to be excited about considering the momentum that this sector is experiencing – sportstech entrepreneurs, researchers, educators, government and established companies, must innovate and evolve if Ireland wants to be a leader on a global stage.
The report being published today is designed to present an overview of the sportstech industry in Ireland, profiling the size, geographic distribution, and the technologies used by the indigenous and multinational companies, and the market segments targeted.
It will delve into the distribution of tech types, company stages, and the growing presence of international companies within the Irish market, profiling thought-leaders, supporters and entrepreneurs in Ireland.
The report is being published by Sports Tech Ireland which was launched in 2017 as a cluster initiative dedicated to this sector and the part that Ireland can play in its growth. EY Ireland are the official data partner for Sports Tech Ireland and are also backing the report and today’s launch.
The launch will be hosted by Rob Hartnett of Sport for Business and will include panel discussions with Paul Ryan of Stats Perform, Trev Keane of Epic Global and Brian Moore of Orreco with Aimee Williams of IDA Ireland on why Ireland is so well suited to Sports Tech.
Then a second panel on the future of Sports Tech Talent will include inputs from Dr Kieron Collins of TU Dublin, Denise Martin of ATU and Olympian Neil Ryan of Finbourne Technology moderated by Rob Hartnett.
The morning will round out with a keynote Masterclass on AI in Sport from Dr Patrick Lucey, Chief Scientist at Sports Perform.
