Competing against athletes in different categories to his own T37, McKillop had fast pace setters and was able to break four minutes for the first time, smashing his own world record by 15 seconds and posting a new time of 3:59:54.
McKillop suffers a mild form of cerebral palsy and is one of the best known Irish Paralympians. He works with Paralympics Ireland to build commercial partnerships and was involved when London Irish Rugby Club became a supporter of Team Ireland at the start of the year.
He is sponsored on a personal level by Leckey, an Irish manufacturer of postural support products.
