Badminton star Nhat Nguyen exited the Olympics after defeat to the World number ten seed Tzu Wei Wang, but he did so with his head high after an earlier group stage win
over Sri Lanka’s Niluka Karunaratne.

He will use the experience to move on further with his career and he has already highlighted the fact that there are a few more Olympics in him.

Twelve months ago we sat with Nhat in the first of a series of interviews with those who we felt could make an impact to talk about how they had found last year’s postponement.

He left Vietnam with his family at the age of six to build a new life in Ireland and pursue a dream of representing his adopted country at the highest level of competition in Badminton.
