Golf Ireland has confirmed the appointment of Deborah Madden as its new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager.

The Longford native has something of a unique background as a working artist. She has had curator roles at the project Arts Centre among others as well as multiple exhibitions of her work.

She moved into the sporting world in 2019 joining the Cycling Ireland team where she was part of their drive for change in equality and diversity.

“I am so happy to join Golf Ireland,” she said.

“I saw the opportunity come up, looking at the Strategic Plan and the values of the organisation, it was somewhere I was excited to go for and delighted to get.”

“The ethos and values of the organisation really align with my own ethics and values. So I am excited about being able to push the EDI agenda while I’m here, with the support of a really progressive organisation behind me.”

It is always good to get creative thinking into the sector and we wish Deborah all the best in this new adventure in the world of golf.
