We are pleased to announce that the third keynote element of The Sporting year Ahead 2024 will be an exclusive conversation with the newly appointed CEO of Dublin City Council, Richard Shakespeare.

We will look ahead to the staging in May of the UEFA Europa League Final at the Aviva Stadium, and at a wide range of issues under the theme of Dublin – a Sporting City.

This will include the redevelopment of Dalymount Park as a community stadium, the staging of international and mass participation events in the city and more.

Richard is a former Director of the FAI and has a long involvement with UCD Football Club as well as a passion for sport in all its forms.

The morning event will take place at the Alex Hotel in Dublin City Centre on the morning of the 25th and a limited number of tickets are still available to join us.

We will be naming more of our key speakers in the coming days, any one of which would be worth attending for.

Kelli O’Keeffe and Rob Pearson will be leading the Teneo delivery of a deep dive into Irish public sentiment towards sport, physical activity and sponsorship as part of The Sporting Year Ahead 2024 on January 25th.

The analysis will go deeper into the data than has previously been seen and will deliver real insight for anyone working in the sporting and sponsorship spheres in 2024.

The morning event will take place in Dublin City Centre on the morning of the 25th and a limited number of tickets are still available to join us.

We were delighted on Monday to announce that Peter Sherrard, CEO of the Olympic Federation of Ireland, and Stephen McNamara, CEO of Paralympics Ireland will be joining us for The Sporting Year Ahead 2024 on January 25th to discuss guiding team Ireland towards Paris 2024.

The Olympic Games are 200 days away and it looks like we will be sending our biggest-ever team, with the hope of achieving a record level of performance.

Then, just over one month later the Paralympic Games will get underway and once more Team Ireland will be hoping to set the sporting world alight.

Getting to a Games is a lifetime dream for athletes but the job of making sure they are given their best shot falls to a diverse team of support staff, teams that Peter and Stephen have been leading.

We will have a conversation about the challenges faced taking part in the World’s biggest sporting event, worrying about the wildly differing demands of gymnasts and athletes, equestrian teams, rowers, and hopefuls from a wide range of different sports.

It is the story behind what will be the sporting story of 2024 and we are delighted to open up our speaker announcements with such a strong doubleheader.

We will also be joined as ever by other leaders in the business of sport who will be playing a key role in the biggest events taking place in Ireland next year and involving Irish teams and participants on the global stage.
