Congratulations to Mary Maguire who is to be the voice of the Paralympic Games for 2016 after stepping in to cover the maternity leave of Sinead Naughton at Paralympics Ireland.
Naughton will be returning in time to assist with the coverage of our Paralympians from Rio but in the meantime Maguire, who has been responsible for establishing regular sports coverage on Her.ie will be stepping in to manage media interest in stars like Jason Smyth, Michael McKillop, Ellen Keane, Noelle Lenihan, Mark Rohan and the other stars that will be heading to Rio in September with medals on their mind.
It was also a pleasure to see Heather Boyle from Cycling Ireland attend the Irish Times Sportswoman of the Year lunch on Friday and reveal that she will be returning to work after the birth of her son in January.
Finally on the maternity news round for now we will also be welcoming Erica Elliot back to the fold at Punchestown Racecourse early in the New Year.
