World number one Scottie Scheffler is the latest big-name addition to the JP McManus Pro-Am. The charity fundraiser will take place at Adare Manor in Limerick in July and has attracted as fine a field of golfers as you would expect at any major.

Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Padraig Harrington, had already committed, as well as Leona Maguire, Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka from golf; Mark Wahlberg, Niall Horan and Jamie Dornan from the world of entertainment.

Sheffler has now been added to the roll call alongside fellow American players Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, Rickie Fowler, Jason Kokrak, Sam Burns and Tom Hoge in the line-up for the event

19 of the 24 competitors at last year’s Ryder Cup will now be appearing at the Pro-Am, including nine of the current top 11 players in the world golf rankings.

“It’s incredible to see how many players from across the world are coming to play in the Pro-Am and I would like to sincerely thank each and every one of them for offering up their time to help us raise money for charitable organisations in need,” said McManus.

“As always, this event would be nothing without the hundreds of volunteers who help us run it smoothly, so I also extend a sincere thank you to them as well.”

The tournament will be played over two days on July 4th and 5th, after the week of the Horizon Irish Open at Mount Juliet and just before both the Scottish open and the 150th Open Championship at St Andrew’s.
