Vodafone will host a family fun zone at Musgrave Park on Saturday 14th January ahead of the Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship match between Munster and Leinster.
Munster’s Men’s team is playing the same afternoon in the Heineken Cup against Northampton at Thomond Park. Initial thoughts on hosting the two games as a doubleheader could not accommodate a double TV broadcast so the decision was taken to stay in Cork for the Women’s game.
The fun zone will be located at the Dolphin Rugby Entrance and the space will be open to all match attendees to soak up the atmosphere before the game.
Featuring a fun rugby skills challenge, music, and giveaways the Vodafone brand crew will be on hand to welcome fans of all ages.
Vodafone’s sponsorship of the Women’s Interprovincial Championship is in addition to its existing position as the principal sponsor of the men’s Irish rugby team as well as the communications partner to the IRFU.
“Vodafone is thrilled to host this family activation zone ahead of the Munster and Leinster game at Musgrave Park,” said Sinéad Bryan, Business Managing Director at Vodafone Ireland.
“We’re committed to helping make everyone feel part of the “Team of Us” by creating an exciting atmosphere ahead of kick-off. We encourage all rugby fans to get behind their provinces and show their support during the Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship over the coming weeks.”
With both sides having won their opening games against Ulster and Connacht respectively, this game will likely determine the ultimate Champions to emerge from the tournament.
Ulster play Connacht on Saturday at Kingspan Stadium in a game to be televised live on BBC Northern Ireland. The Munster Vs Leinster game will be shown on TG4.
The final round of matches will be played at The Sportsground in Galway and Queens University in Belfast on Saturday, January 21st.
Tickets for the games are priced at just €10 for adults and €5 for juniors, while family packs (two adults and two children) are available for €20.
Sport for Business Perspective:
Craeting a strong matchday experience is key to retaining new fans that might be attracted towards these interprovincial games. They arre a perfect opportunity to get to watch top class sport live at a fraction of the cost that it would take to get to a major international match at the Aviva Stadium. Putting fun into the equation can only be a winner.
