The development of esports in Ireland is about to take another leap forward with Legion Esports + Media and Nativz Gaming announcing a ground-breaking strategic partnership.

The existing Legion Collegiate Esports Series is to be taken over by Nativz Gaming, with Legion Esports + Media e-commerce brand entering into a 3-year partnership with Nativz Gaming.

The team responsible for the day-to-day management of the series, which grew substantially within the college environment here over the past two years, will remain in place for what will now be known as the Nativz Collegiate Esports Series.

“We’re delighted to see the continued growth of student esports in Ireland, and we’re looking forward to working with Nativz Gaming as they take over this exciting student esports series,” said Legion Esports + Media CEO Stuart Dempsey.

“By aligning our retail brand with Nativz Gaming we see a great opportunity to continue to support the Irish gaming community and in particular the student esports community.”

“I’d like to thank Stuart and the Legion team as we look forward to a great mutual partnership, ultimately ensuring a really exciting future for student esports in Ireland,” added Nativz Gaming Co-Founder & Chairperson Kurt Pittman.

“We’ve also been really impressed with the commitment from Yannick, Ronan and Sam as leaders in the collegiate esports scene to ensure there’s stability for the existing community as we get ready for the upcoming series.”

“We’re really excited by this unique opportunity to support the continued growth of collegiate esports in Ireland and looking forward to welcoming everyone associated to the series into our Nativz community.”

Legion Esports + Media will be front and centre stage as Gamerfest returns to Dublin in the RDS on October 22nd and 23rd.

Sport for Business will host a pre-show guide at the venue for brands and agencies interested in a deeper insight on the development of esports in Ireland.
